DESCRIPTION: This incredible, rare and extraordinary 4-hour video set shows what you would never otherwise experience -- the relatively unchanged, on-going, intense spirituality of the Russian Orthodox people. It enables you to come about as close as possible, short of being there - (you can almost smell the incense) - to participating in the beautiful and profound worship experience in the Russian countryside. You can feel the intense spirituality of the people through their faces, their singing and their total involvement -- they are anything but passive by-standers. Wishing to let the American people see the tremendous faith and spiritual worship of the Russian people, enormous freedom of movement was allowed in videotaping up-close, and the people were too busy praying to take notice of the camera. The Liturgy, group Confession, Moleben, Akathist and Panikhida are complete. Then there are the Baptisms! There is nothing in American Orthodoxy that comes close to the fascinating experience of watching 16 babies and children being baptized at the same time. Two Sundays of Baptisms are shown, edited down to 25 minutes each. The universal spiritual language is spoken here!
